Community Wildfire Protection Plans. Chapter leaders can become educated about the risk of catastrophic loss due to wildfire in the Community Wildfire Protection Plan drafted for your community. Click on the applicable county plan then on the interactive map. NOTE: Some newer community chapters, such as Eagle Ridge, Somersett and Woodhills, were not assessed because they were not included in the original list of communities published in the Federal Register pursuant to the Healthy Forest Restoration Act.
Chapter Leader Handbook – The 2011 version of the Chapter Leader Handbook handbook will be issued to Chapter Leaders at the Annual Membership Meeting, September 20, 2011, at the University of Nevada Reno. If you miss the meeting, call the office (775-884-4455) and we’ll send one to you in the mail.
NVFSC Tri-Fold Brochure. The full-color tri-fold brochure can be downloaded here and printed. The brochure is designed to be printed on both sides of a single page and folded. Large quantities can be requested from the Carson City office.
Individual Membership Application Form Chapter members are encouraged to build membership in their community chapter. This membership form can be filled out by prospective members and returned to the Nevada Fire Safe Council office.
Travel Reimbursement Form Certain qualified expenses, such as for postage and printing, can be reimbursed to chapter leaders. Not all Chapters and expenses are eligible for reimbursement. Please contact the Nevada Fire Safe Council office PRIOR to making expenditures on behalf of your chapter if you expect to be reimbursed.
Fuels Reduction Agreement. This form is filled out by Nevada Fire Safe Council staff and signed by private property owners prior to commencement of fuels reduction work on private propeties. It describe the work to be achieved, the match required by the property owner, and releases the Nevada Fire Safe Council, your Chapter, and chapter volunteers from liability
In kind contribution form. Volunteer labor (also known as “Soft Match”) and other uncompensated contributions, such as mileage, can be used to match some grants that have been awarded to Nevada Fire Safe Council chapters. These should be filled out by chapter members, collected by chapter leaders, and returned to the Carson City office of the Nevada Fire Safe Council.
Wildlandfire Awareness Week Guide 2011 NVFSC staff and our partners at UNR Cooperative Extension update this publication annually to give Chapters a list of great ideas for their Chapter during Wildland Fire Awareness Week. In 2011, the event will be held from May1-8.
