Green Ranch was approved as the 100th chaper of the Nevada Fire Safe Council on August 28th, 2008. The Nevada Fire Safe Council celberated this mile stone with an event at Bartley Ranch including a BBQ, press confrence and project tour.
The chapter looks to clear exsess fules in the Evnas Creek draniage ditch and create defensiable space on individual properties. A grant from the Southern Nevada Public Lands Managment Act will fund a fuels reduction project along the Evans Creek area. The project is designed too reduce the hazardous and flammable fuels from the area adjacent to the Chapter to the United States Forest Service boundary. This will minimize the chance of a fire begining on United States Forest Service land moving into the community along Evans Creek.
