Jacks Valley was accepted as a chapter of the Nevada Fire Safe Council in November 2004. The chapter is located at the North end of Carson City from Alpine view court, Pawnee to Jacks Way.
The Jacks Valley fuels reduction project was completed in July of 2008. The project was a great success and a n excellent example of a community wide defensible space project. The project totaled approximately 60 acres. Remaining funding within the fuel reduction grant will be used for fall treatment of landowners awaiting fuels reduction treatment.
