Juniper Hills was became the 76th chapter of the Nevada Fire Safe Council in August 2007. The chapter is located off of Platue Drive outside of Calughin Ranch in North West Reno. This chapter borders the Hawkins Fire of 2007, bring to light the threat to Juniper Hills Community.
Juniper Hills will be starting a mastication and ground work project in the Spring of 2008 to creat defensiable space around the community. Funding for this project will come from the Southern Nevada Public Lands Management Act. For more information regarding the project please contact the chapter leader or Project Coordinator.
