Located on the North side of Carson City, Lakeview became the 26th Chapter of The Nevada Fire Safe Council in March of 2005. After the Angora Fire the chapter has completed a fuel break on the East side of the community.
In the winter of 2008 a grant provided through the Nevada Division of Forestry was used to treat a fuel break in Combs Canyon. The remaining grant funds were used to create defensible space community wide and reduce hazardous fuels along community access roads.
