The Tahoe Youth Chapter became the 93rd chapter of the Nevada Fire Safe Council on May 22, 2008. The Chapter is facilitated through North Tahoe Middle School and focuses on building awareness of fire safety through the school and its surrounding community. One of the main priorities for the chapter is to prepare the school for a catastrophic wildfire event with a clear path to safety. The North Tahoe Youth Chapter hopes to expand into the North Tahoe High School and continue in educating students and their surrounding community about the inherent threats of wildfire.
